Extreme Refraction of the Sun and Green Flash

(April 15, 2008)

Flight from Tampa, FL to Washington Dulles Airport at 35,000 feet resulted in an extreme refraction event of the sun as it set behind the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  Plane was flying through light chop with the wing blocking the view at times.  Auto-focus was having trouble deciding on window, wing or sun, so had to manually focus the shots, which led to less than perfect shots
